About Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy (NHRT)

Synthetic HRT  versus  Natural HRT

Recent headlines have caused many women to abruptly stop their hormone replacement therapy, some without the knowledge of their doctor. It's important to point-out that the arm of Women's Health Initiative study that ended in July of 2002, involved synthetic forms of estrogen and progestin.

Synthetic hormones are branded and patented pharmaceutical drugs. Patents allow drug manufacturers to price, sell and market their prescriptions as unique creations. To obtain a patent for a synthetic hormone (or any other drug), the molecular structure must be modified. The result is a hormone that looks very similar to a natural hormone but, in fact, is very different in structure and function.

Unlike branded drugs, Natural Prescription Hormones cannot be patented. Natural Prescription Hormones are compounded to have the same molecular structure and function to those naturally occurring in men and women.

We custom-compound all of our medications in a Class 1000 clean room to ensure the highest quality and purity.
Natural Prescription Hormones are a vital alternative to synthetic HRT because they can relieve menopause and andropause symptoms while minimizing the negative side-effects and long-term health risks of synthetic hormone replacement.

What Are Natural Prescription Hormones Made From?
All of our Natural Prescription Hormones are derived from soy, wild Mexican yam and other natural sources. We custom-compound all of our medications in a Class 1000 clean room to ensure the highest quality and purity.

Are These the Same Natural Hormones Sold In Health Food Stores?

No, Natural Prescription Hormones are prescription-strength medications. The hormone creams and capsules that are sold in health food stores are known as phytoestrogens. A few of the more commonly known phytoestrogens are supplements like Black Cohash, St. John’s Wort and Evening Primrose. Phytoestrogens are often helpful in relieving menopause symptoms in some women who are in the early stages of menopause (know as perimenopause). Since phytoestrogens are sold over-the-counter and do not require a prescription, they tend to be weaker strengths. Phytoestrogens may work for some women but not all and may help during the very early stages of perimenopause. However, as hormone levels continue to drop, phytoestrogens often loose the ability to relive symptoms and stronger remedies such as Natural Prescription Hormones must be applied.
